Hey guys, this is Ken from Jaztime.com, and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 41, reference number 126334. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Okay, so as of October 2017, you can get this Rolex Datejust 41 from an authorized Rolex retailer for $11,400. Or you can come to Jaztime.com and get it for as low as $9,950. Moving on to the dial now, the Rolex Datejust has a very similar dial architecture, where the hour markers which in this case are diamond hour markers, fastened in 18 karat white gold to prevent any tarnishing. A date window at the 3 o'clock position with a cyclops lens on top of that date aperture for magnification, easier viewing of that date. We also have the Rolex crown made out of 18 carat white gold at the 12 o'clock position, with the Rolex Oyster Professional Datejust name right underneath that as well. Now, with all Datejust, there's numerous dial configurations for your Datejust. Specifically, the one I have in my hand here is diamond hour markers with a dark rhodium dial. Specifically, if you're interested in just keeping the diamond hour markers, but you're looking for something a little bit different for the dial color, the other dial colors this watch comes in for diamond hour markers is: black, blue, the rhodium, and the mother-of-pearl. If you're not feeling as luxurious as going for diamond hour markers, they do have a simpler version, which is around minus $2,000 off the retail pricing. There's a index hour marker, which are luminous filled as well. The index hour markers come in: white, silver, blue, black, or dark rhodium dial color. So quite a bit of choices for you when you're going with the Datejust 41. Moving on to the bezel now, the bezel is just a very simple fixed fluted 18 karat white gold bezel. As you can see, as light hits that bezel, it kind of shines in different portions on the flutedness. Very nice. Moving on to the case now, as the name states it's Rolex Datejust 41, it's a 41mm case size. From my index finger to my thumb here, that's a 41 millimeter in diameter case sizing. As I move on to show you the side profile now, as you can see, it's a very nice slim case, and the same thing could be said about the bezel. It's actually updated from the Datejust II. The Datejust II used to have a thicker case and a thicker bezel. That was discontinued to make room for this Datejust 41, which now features a more slimmer case and a slimmer bezel. You can see, very nice, the profile isn't too high because of that. It fits under suit coats, dress coats very nicely. In addition to that, we have this beautiful high polish on the side of the case that travels very nicely with the sides of the bracelet. Same thing on the other side of the case too, nice high polish. The crown itself has a Rolex crown logo on there, and it is a screw-down twin lock and double waterproofing system crown. It simply unwinds counterclockwise, as shown. In this standard position that the crown is in, you can actually wind the watch 15-20 times from a dead stop, and that should get the watch going once more. Simply tugging the crown will bring you to the second position, in which you can instantaneously change the date as shown there, just by going clockwise, very easily. Pulling the crown out to the final position will stop the seconds hand, as shown. You can see the seconds hand is moving, pull that crown out - here's the final position - the seconds hand or the hack movement will stop, allowing for precise time setting such as through an atomic clock online. You can set it down to the exact second, while also adjusting the hands bidirectionally, as shown. Always make sure, press the crown nice and tight against the case and screw it down. You wanna keep your watch water resistance for up to 100 meters or 330 feet, for this Datejust. Moving on to the bracelet now, as the Datejust is a dress watch, we have this beautiful high polish down the center of the 3-piece link Oyster bracelet. The high polish contrasting very nicely with the satin finish or brushed steel on the outer edges of the bracelet. As you can see as I shift the bracelet all throughout, you can see that pattern stays nicely throughout the whole bracelet. The steel that it's made out of is 904L steel, which is in-house-made steel by Rolex that has additional corrosion resistance and a little more shine to the steel as well. The clasp is just a simple folding Oyster clasp, as shown. It opens up very easily, very nicely, and it reveals this beautiful high-polish clasp blade, which has the Rolex name embossed on the clasp blade itself there. On the back of the clasp, we have what Rolex calls an Easylink comfort extension link, which allows for 5 mm adjustment of the bracelet forward or backwards. That's more of a quality-of-life feature, such as a hot summer day. Your wrist might swell up a little bit. You can adjust the bracelet to be a little more loose, so you can give your wrist a little more breathing space. And vice-versa for colder days. Moving on to the movement now, the movement has been updated in the Datejust 41 compared to the Datejust II. The Datejust II originally had the 3136 movement, and now the Datejust 41 has the 3235 movement, which they based off Rolex's flagship model the Day-Date President, which has a 3255 movement. The difference between them, mainly is that they added what's called a Chronergy escapement which is a skeletonized escape wheel that was made out of a phosphorous nickel. The skeletonization of the escapement wheel allows for reduced inertia, and the phosphorous nickel allows for additional resistance against magnetism, and that pairs very nicely with the paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring which also has additional magnetic resistance. Besides that, the calibre of the movement is the 3235 in-house made movement. It has a precision of minus two/plus two seconds a day, and it has the functions of the center hour minute and seconds hand with instantaneous changing of the date with rapid setting, and stopping of the seconds hand for precise time setting, as I've shown you with the crown. The power reserve also has been updated as well from the Datejust II. Originally, it was a 48-hour power reserve. Now you're looking at a large power reserve of 70 hours, meaning you can put this watch down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Monday afternoon, and it should be keeping time just fine. Let me actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist now. Pop open that folding Oyster. Nice and closed. And there's the watch on my wrist. One thing to keep in mind: I do have a average man-sized wrist, which is a 7-inch wrist. As you can see, there's still a little more space for that bracelet.
