Hey guys this is Kevin from JazTime.com and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 41. A reference number for this watch is 116334. We'll be going over the pricing, the dial, bezzle, case, crown, bracelet, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Alright, so as of September 2017, this watch is actually a discontinued watch; however, it's only been recently discontinued so there are still newer models out there. It originally retailed for $9,100 at your authorized Rolex retailer. However, here at JazTime.com, we can still get it for you for as low as $7,600. Okay, moving on to the dial now. The dial configuration I have in my hand is a blue dial with Roman numerals. Of course as with any DateJust line, there's numerous configurations that you can choose from. So specifically for the Roman, you're looking at a blue dial or a black dial with a index luminescent nine marker. If you're not interested in that and you like index markers all throughout, we have a black dial, blue dial or silver. And for the Arabic numerals, there's a special version of it where it's a silver dial with blue Arabic numerals all around. Okay, and then of course as it is a DateJust, DateJust follows a very simple dial configuration of just hour markers, hour markers, dial color and just the date at the three o'clock position, with the date magnified by a cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal for easier viewing and magnification of that date. The hour markers themselves, whether index or Roman are going to be fashioned in 18 karat white gold to prevent any tarnishing. The hands are as well made out of that 18 karat white gold as well. Moving on to the bezzle now. The bezzle is a very beautiful fixed, fluted 18-karat white gold bezzle. As you can see, the light shines and hits it in different parts of the bezzle. Moving on to the case, now. The case size of this DateJust is a 41 millimeter case. So from index finger to my thumb here, that's 41 millimeters in diameter. The side profile of the case, as you can see, is not to large of a profile. It will fit under suit cuffs, dress cuffs very nicely. The case itself is made out of Rolex's in-house made 904L steel which has a higher corrosion resistance. On the side of the case, we have the beautiful high polish that patterns very nicely with the side bracelet. As well you can see the high polish down the sides of the bracelet. On the other side of the casing, once again we have the high polish that patterns with that bracelet once more and we also have the Rolex logo crown on the Rolex crown. As we move on to the crown now, the crown is a screw-down twin-locking double water proof system that simply unscrews just going counter-clockwise, as shown. And in its first position, this is the watch winding position. You can wind the watch about 15 to 20 times from a dead stop will get this watch moving once more. Simply tugging out the crown very gently to the next position. The second position will allow you to change the date instantaneously as shown. And pulling the crown out to the final position will stop the seconds hand, the seconds hand as show here, and the hands will be able to be set bi-directionally as shown. Now, stopping the seconds hand in this final position is important as it allows you to adjust the watch to the exact seconds of a clock, such as an atomic clock online. You can set it down to the exact seconds. Okay always make sure to press the crown nice and tight against the case and screw it back in as it will keep this watch water resistant for 100 meters or 330 feet. Moving on to the bracelet now. For the DateJust, as it is more of a dress watch, we have this beautiful oyster three-piece link bracelet with sand finish brushed-steel on the outer of the three-piece links with the center links being completely high polished. As we move throughout the bracelet, we can see it keeps that pattern all the way throughout, even on the clasp itself. You can see the high polish down the center with the Rolex logo embossed on that clasp there. The clasp itself is just a very simple folding oyster clasp as shown. It simply opens up as so. And then we have the clasp blades in a nice high polish with the Rolex name embossed onto that high-polished clasp blade. One additional thing to mention about the clasp is that it is what Rolex calls the Easylink. And what an Easylink is, is that there's a little indentation on the side of the clasp there. Let me get a little bit closer for you. The little indentation on the side of the clasp and you can actually adjust the bracelet five millimeters forward or five millimeters backward, using a simple tool to press the pins inward and you can pull it forward five millimeters or pull it out five millimeters. And that's for hot summer days. Let's say your wrist swells up and you don't want the watch tying too much on your wrist and you give it a little breathing space. You can move it that five millimeters outward. Or vice versa for colder days you don't want the watch to be wiggling all around on your wrist, so you can move it back down five millimeters inward to tighten it up. Okay, let's go ahead and move on to the movement now. The movement is housed in this very simple oyster case backing. It is Rolex's in-house made 3136 movement. It is a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement with precision +2/-2 seconds a day. Has the function of the center hour minutes seconds hand stopping the seconds hand with instantaneous changing of the date as well, as I've shown you with the crown functions. The 3135 movement itself, our 3136 movement that this DateJust has is an upgrade from the 3135 movement. That 3135 movement has been tried and tested for over 10 years, so they've added a little upgrade over that movement which is what Rolex calls the Paraflex shock absorbers. Which Rolex claims it absorbs 50% more shocks in the watch. Okay, so besides that, the powers of this watch, you're looking at 48 hours. Meaning you can put this watch down on a Friday evening and pick it back up on a Sunday afternoon and it should be keeping time just fine. Alright, so I'm gonna go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist. Once again, here's the clasp. It's very simple to open and very simple to close. And there we are.
