If you'd like to know the price simply click on the links in the description below. We greatly appreciate if you purchase your next watch from us at JazTime.com. Today, we'll be talking about the Rolex Datejust II with a Sunray blue dial index markers with an oyster bracelet reference number 116334. This is a discontinued model as Rolex's Oyster Perpetual Datejust II line in production from only really the first half of the 2010s. But, you know, as you can see I'm making this video at the beginning of 2021. And we at JazTime can certainly get these legacy models for you. If you want this watch, or any other watch, visit our store at JazTime.com. Links in the description below. I'll be going over the case, the bezel, dial, crown, movement, and the bracelet. And I'll be giving you my thoughts on all of these throughout the video. This case is 41 millimeters in diameter with a lug width of 20 millimeters, 49.5 millimeters lug to lug, and only 12 millimeters thick. Made entirely out of oyster steel here with a high polish monoblock middle case, screw down caseback, and winding crown to ensure water resistance down to a hundred meters or 330 feet. The Datejust as per usual, or always rather, contain that Sapphire scratch resistant crystal with the Cyclops lens directly over the three o'clock. So you can easily read that date at any glance, very quick. This bezel is the fluted bezel. It's definitely got that legacy, practical legacy because originally it was made to screw the bezel on directly to the case to ensure that waterproofness, but you know, moderate advancements over time have made it, so that, it's not really all that useful, but it gives Rolex watches that look of distinction because when you see that fluted bezel, you know that it's a Rolex. Capable of attracting attention from anywhere in the room with all of that fluting. It gives it that really nice play in the light as you move it around. And as you can see, I'm moving it throughout, or just even rotating it throughout my light box here. All right. And in this case, it is actually made of white gold. It's always made with some sort of gold. In this case white gold to really match the stainless steel appearance of a case and that of the bracelet there, all right. And the dial is what Rolex refers to as a Sunray Blue Dial. This one has a very, very deep hue to it, a very dark value. Almost every shade of blue that you can see here with a few tents depending on the angle of view with your light source that really gives it that Sunray patterning look. Almost a sunburst type of look, if you will. All right. So this also has a, some of a professional sensibility with, you know, those really, really thick index hour marks, and these hour marks are actually much thicker than what you'd find on newer Datejust models. So if you want that very, very fast ease of reading, getting one of these Day-Date II, you know, from us at JazTime.com, we can certainly do so for you. Because you know it really has a sense of strength, a sense of command when you are looking at it with those very thick hour marks. 18 karat white gold with LumiNova applications on all of those indexes, indices rather. And if you take a very close look, these Day-Date II also have a very special minute, or second track on the inside of that bezel, the very perimeter of the dial. Where you can see that there are actually Arabic numerals at each five minute, or five second mark. So there's really no mistake when you're trying to set the time properly. All right. And while we're here, when it comes to setting time properly we can actually demonstrate the functionality of this watch. Simply unwind the crown at the three o'clock to the first position. This allows you to wind the watch. So from a dead stop, it only takes about 25 to 30 full winds to get it started and moving up to the full power reserve, pull out to the second position, and you can then advance the date forward. It takes about a quarter turn to advance the date by one. So, you know, if you are a time traveler, it works very well. If you are on the 28th of February and it happens to be March 1st, tomorrow, well, pretty easy. Easy to set the date to the next day as needed, all right. Simply pull the crown to the final position, and you can hack the seconds hand, so you can then adjust the time precisely as needed. All right. Screw the crown back-end against the case to ensure that superior water resistance. All right, and what makes all of this work, is the movement made in-house by Rolex. The caliber 3136, a diameter of 28.5 millimeters, made with 31 jewels, with a vibration per hour rating of 28,800, or four Hertz. The functions include the hours, minutes, and seconds with the fast rapid setting of the date as I had just demonstrated It has also a cost certified chronometer, so you can be sure that this definitely keeps the time properly and Rolex boasts a plus or minus two second time differential per 24 hours which actually exceeds the cost certifications. It also features a Parachrom Blue Hairspring with paraflex shock absorbers. So you can be sure that it is resistant to both shock and electromagnetic interference. So if you're in a heavy magnetic field, for example, it will be keeping time just fine. It also has bi-directional automatic winding via a perpetual rotor within the movement. So all you really need to do is just wind up once fully. Wearing it on your wrist will keep that power reserve up to 48 hours at a time, all right. The bracelet here is the oyster style. Three piece links across, high polish down the center with brush finishing along the side links, high polish along their sides, leading down to the post oyster folding class pier. To open it, simply lift the top, easy as you'd like. All right. And it also features the easy link five millimeter extension. Now, I believe this is the closed, yes, this is the closed position. So if you were to happen... If you were to say hydrate yourself very much within a very short time span, your wrist has to swell. So all you need to do is just simply pull it out and there you go, extra five millimeters, so that your wash does not actually act as an impromptu tourniquet. All right. And while we're here, we can actually try the watch on and you can see it within the context of a wrist. Now, my wrist is 7.25, 7.5 inches in circumference. So about average size, all right. And looking at it on the wrist, it is rather large. It takes up quite a bit of space when it comes to the case, thanks to the bezel. And that lug to lug distance, you know, that 49.5 millimeter to lug to lug distance. It wears a bit larger than like a 41. So it's more like a 42 or 43, because I'm not getting much of a bracelet framing here when I'm looking at it on the wrist here. But, yeah, if that's the sort of thing that you want. You want something that has that large risk presence. This watch certainly has it. The Day-Date II certainly have it. And with this fluted bezel appearance, it really gives it that sense of, you know, look at me, I'm in charge, you can see the time, you can see the date easily. No fuss, no need to stare at it because it's all there. Well, if you'd like to stare at it, go right ahead because it has that Sunray patterning that looks absolutely gorgeous in just about any different lighting environment. And speaking of lighting environments, we can also actually look at the LumiNova applications in the dark here. So let me turn out the lights here, and you can actually see how bright those are. They're actually clipping my highlights in the darkness here. So you can act... It's really difficult to see but they're a very, very bright green that I can see extremely clearly even with my own eyes. Not even looking at the monitoring on my camera, and you can see the differentiation between the hour and minute hands. They're a little bit thinner than those of the index hour marks there. All right, so you certainly getting bang for your buck when you're looking at this. All right. So, when it comes to the weight, it's a bit noticeable on the wrist, but it is not an entirely heavy that, you know, it becomes fatiguing to wear. So, you know, it's certainly standard fare when it comes to Rolex. So, I don't know. What do you think about this watch? Let us know down in the comments below.
