And if you want to know the price of the watch, simply click on the links in the description below. We would greatly appreciated if you'll buy a watch from jazztime.com once in a while. So today I'll be reviewing the Rolex datejust 31. This is the model number 278273. We'll be going over the dial bezel case crown bracelet class, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So jumping right into the dial, the dial configuration I currently have in my hand here, is the silver dial with diamond hour markers. Of course, there's also new, this is a datejust watch, there's numerous different configurations for this watch, particularly for the dial. You can also get it in index hour markers or Roman numerals. It depends on what your preference is for the hour markers. For the dull colors, you're limited to white, champagne, green, brown and also of course, silver as I have in my hand here. And if you're feeling a little more luxurious it also comes on a white mother pearl as well. But besides that, this follows the typical datejust architecture in terms of the dial. We have our markers from the one, two and then from the four all the way to the 11, with diamond hour markers. we have the Rolex crown logo at the 12 o'clock position. And the date window, at the three o'clock position, as this is a datejust watch. And then for the Sapphire crystal, we have this little, little hump here. You see, that sits on top of the Sapphire crystal. That's called the cyclops lens, which magnifies the day at the three o'clock position and makes it easy to read. It makes it easier to read at a glance. For the dial color, like I said, it's a silver dial, as with all datejust watches. Typically for the coloration of the dial, we have these sort of sub-bursting features, as you see, as I tilted it around in my light box here, you can see the lights sort of radiate around the dial and also having a contrasting, sort of dark darker area. And that contrast helps really bring the shine out of the face of the watch, as if it would be just a little bit too much if it were just the whole dial, was just a bright highlighted silver. You can see the nice little contrasting from the, sort of a triangular cone shape coming out where it's from the dial. You can see nice lighting, the lighting just sort of radiating around, once more. But besides besides that, our hands, our minute hands are in solid gold for this, for this dial type. If you're looking for something easier to read, you might want to go with something that is on the index hour markers, cause the index hour markers have our minute hand that has luminosity on it, meaning it glows in the dark. And of course the index markers themselves also glow in the dark. Meaning that you could be able to read it, the watch at night, once it has the appropriate charge from other light source, either being the sun or you light it up yourself. All right, so we're going to go ahead and move on to the bezel now. Bezel is just a simple fluted bezel. This is a 18 carat yellow gold bezel. The fluted feature falls the same style idea of the sun, the sort of sunburst patterning of the dials. As you can see, as I sort of tilt it in the light box, once more, you can see different highlights of highlighted parts of yellow gold, also different contrasting darker shadows around, really just brings a nice view to the face of the watch. Of course, if you're not interested in the fluted gold, there is the smooth bezel version as well. So those are your two choices. And we're going to go ahead and move on to the case now. The cases is a stainless steel case. For the size, it's a Rolex datejust 31, so 31 millimeters in diameter. So from my index finger to my thumb here, that's 31 millimeters in diameter. From the side profile view of the case, you can see very beautiful high polish. On the other side of the case as well, nice, beautiful high polish. We have the crown located here at the three o'clock position, with the Rolex crown logo. I can actually zoom that in a little bit, so you can take a look at that. All right, moving on to the crown functions now. We're going to go ahead and unwind the crown, counterclockwise as this is a screw down crown, with a twin lock double waterproofness system. In the standard position where the crown is fully out, you can wind the watch from a dead stop, about 15 to 20 clockwise turns is all you need to get the watch started once more. Pulling a crown out to the next position, will allow you to adjust the date very quickly and instantaneously. You can see just by going counter-clockwise, I can adjust the date, very quickly. And pulling the crown out to a final position will stop that second turn because as you see, as I stop there right after the four o'clock position, that means you can set this time down to the exact second, such as to an atomic clock online. You can set it to the exact seconds while moving the hands by directionally as well, to set the time however you like. Pushing a crown back in will start that once more. And then we're going to go ahead and screw the crown nice and tight in against the case. Once the crown is nice and tight and against the case, as I've mentioned this is a twin lock, double waterproofness system. So this watch has a water resistance of 100 meters or 330 feet, Moving onto the bracelet now. This is a jubilee style bracelet. Jubilee being in these five piece links. So we have two larger brushed steel links on the outer edge. In the center we have three high polished or mirror polished yellow gold links. All the way to the back, you can see very beautiful patterning just continues through the whole watch. Even the small tapering from the start of the case, down to the back to keep a nice proportional view overall. It's only stopped by here, where the Rolex crown logo is located, This is where the class is located actually. So we open it up by pulling on that crown logo. And there we are, revealing this nicely high polished class blades, with that Rolex embossed onto one of the blades as well. And this is called the concealed folding crown class. And I'll show you how the back looks, so you can see the class sits right behind the bracelet. So it'll be hidden from view once you have it on your wrist. All right, moving on to the movement now. So the movement is housed in this orchestra case backing, with a nicely high polished outer edge, with a sand finish on the part that sits on top of your wrist. The movement itself is a in-house made movement by Rolex. It's a perpetual mechanical self-wiring movement. It is the caliber 2236 movement made by Rolex, it's within Swiss specs, as they boast about the six o'clock position. Let me zoom in on our text there. You can see that it says, "Superlative chronometer quarter officially certified". We also have the Swiss many texts at the the bottom as well. The superlative chronometer officially certified, means that this watch is within Swiss specs, meaning plus two, minus two seconds. For the functions of the movement, as I've shown you the two crown functions with the instantaneous change of dates, stopping the seconds hand but also just the simple functions of the hour, minute and seconds hand as well. The oscillator, the oscillator has a Syloxi hairspring, which is a silicone hairspring, which helps against resistance against the magnetism. Also paired with a pair their in-house made shock absorbers, called the paraflex shock absorbers. So they moved on from the KIF shock absorbers, to their own unhouse-made shock absorbers, called the paraflex shock absorbers. Which exclaims, absorb 50% more shocks on their watches. But besides that, really the only thing that you should actually care about, is the power reserve of the watch. It is a 55 hour power reserve. Meaning you can put this watch on the Friday evening, pick it back up on a Sunday evening and it should be keeping time just fine. And when I say that the power reserve, that means that if you have the watch fully wound and you're not wearing it for whatever reason you decide to put it on your dresser and you just leave it there for a few a day or two, that's the power reserve that will just keep on going, from the whining movement and also from the movement on your wrist. Okay. So, unfortunately I can't show you this watch on my wrist, as I have a average man size wrist of a seven inch wrist. This is more of a lady's watch. So I believe it fits a six and a half inch wrist. But if you're interested in this watch or any other watch, for those possible price check at our website, JazzT.com.
